Man’s body pulled from Lauderdale Lakes canal

After a car crashed into a canal Saturday in Lauderdale Lakes, Broward Sheriff’s divers and firefighters didn’t find any bodies or survivors of the accident that happened about 4 a.m.

But on Monday morning, a caller to 911 reported a body was floating in a waterway near 3900 NW 31st Terrace, Broward Sheriff’s spokeswoman Joy Oglesby said.

Broward Sheriff’s Office personnel and Oakland Park Fire Rescue were at the scene where a man’s body was pulled from the canal about 8:50 a.m.

His name hasn’t been released. “The traffic homicide investigation unit is still investigating, and no additional information is available at this time,” Oglesby said.
