Tamarac man dies in Turnpike crash

A 25-year-old Tamarac man is dead and his 30-year-old female passenger was critically injured after a motorcycle accident on the Turnpike early Saturday, the Florida Highway Patrol said. FHP Lt. Alvaro Feola said Matias Rasuk died at the scene after losing control of his 2010 Kawasaki ZX100 bike near mile marker 94. A data breach at a company that handles the billing for municipal water service has Pompano Beach city officials working to minimize the potential damage. Hackers gained unauthorized access to credit or debit card data stored with software company CentralSquare and used for one-time online water bill payments made through the city’s website from Aug. 30 to Dec. 6, officials said. Driver critical after rescue from lake

A driver in Lauderdale Lakes was in critical condition after he was rescued from a pickup truck that went into the water Friday night, authorities said. The man, who was pulled from a pickup truck in a lake, appeared to be in his 60s, said Battalion Chief Michael Kane, spokesman for the Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue.
