Fire destroys Fort Lauderdale home; no injuries

There were no reports of injuries despite the flames that consumed most of a Fort Lauderdale house and a pickup truck parked outside, fire officials said. It happened about 5 p.m. Friday in a single family home in the 1100 bock of Northwest 17th Street. The smoke could be seen blocks away.
