There were no reports of injuries despite the flames that consumed most of a Fort Lauderdale house and a pickup truck parked outside, fire officials said.
It happened about 5 p.m. Friday in a single family home in the 1100 bock of Northwest 17th Street.
The smoke could be seen blocks away.
Firefighters had it under control quickly but the cause of the blaze was unknown. Fire marshals are investigating.
The Broward County chapter of the Red Cross was helping the three displaced adults find temporary accommodations.
