Officer-involved shooting in Fort Lauderdale sends person to hospital

One person was shot by a Fort Lauderdale Police Department officer Sunday, but no information was immediately available about what caused the incident.

The shooting happened at about 3 p.m. Sunday, according to Fort Lauderdale Police Department spokeswoman Casey Liening. An address was not provided.

The person was transported to Broward Health Medical Center.

No officers were injured, Liening said.
