Pair of Sharks earn SSC Player of the Week Recognition

MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Sunshine State Conference announced the Athletes of the Week, during the week of November 4 – 10, on Monday afternoon. Ryker Cisarik (Men’s Basketball) and Kevin Rubaszewski (Men’s Soccer) both were recognized for the first time in their careers. 

Cisarik averaged a double-double in two wins at the SSC/GSC Crossover in Montevallo, Alabama. The Highlands Ranch, Colorado forward opened the event with a team-high 32 points, eight rebounds, two blocks, an assist, and a steal in a 105-104 overtime win against RV Alabama-Huntsville. The senior followed with a 29-point / 12-rebound double-double, two blocks, and three assists during a 104-87 defeat of Montevallo. Cisarik totaled 51 points last week by shooting 56% from the field (19-34), 54% from behind the arc (7-13), and 100% from the free-throw line (6-6). He averaged 25.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 2.0 blocks, and 0.5 steals while playing 32.0 minutes per game.

Rubaszewski totaled four goals last week, scoring twice against SSC foes Embry-Riddle and Rollins. In a 3-2 win over ERAU, the German knocked in the 1-1 equalizer in the 15th minute, then provided late-game heroics with the game-winner in the 89th minute. The senior forward opened the scoring in the 5th minute during NSU’s 3-2 loss at Rollins. Rubaszewski also scored the final goal in the 58th minute. He scored his four goals off eight total shots and six shots on goal during his 152 minutes on the pitch.
