Taste of the Gardens returns to Pembroke Pines with food, fun & philanthropy

This is “Small Bites,” a South Florida Sun Sentinel feature with tiny tidbits on the food and beverage scene — because we know that sometimes you just don’t have room for a long article. You want a little news brief instead, an amuse bouche of information, if you will. Enjoy!

This year, beneficiaries include Children’s Harbor, Kiwanis Club of Miramar-Pembroke Pines, Pooches in Pines and Voices for Children. There will also be an after-party at The Pub, with live music and drink specials.

THE RESTAURANTS: In addition to The Pub, this year’s lineup includes Brimstone Woodfire GrillBrio Italian Grille, The Brass Tap, Carrot Express, Fuddruckers, Gelosia, Lime Fresh Mexican Grill, Misha’s Cupcakes, RA Sushi, Sal’s Italian Ristorante, Sirocco Mediterranean and Village Tavern.

WHEN: 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1; the after-party starts at 7:30 p.m

WHERE: Shops at Pembroke Gardens, 527 SW 145th Terrace, Pembroke Pines; registration is next to Brimstone Woodfire Grill, 14575 SW Fifth St.

COST: $15 a person

WHAT THEY’RE SAYING:

“We’re thrilled to bring back Taste of the Gardens and celebrate both the diverse culinary scene and our community’s generosity,” said Annette Alvarez, property manager of Shops at Pembroke Gardens. “It’s an honor to partner with the Miramar-Pembroke Pines Chamber of Commerce to host such a meaningful event that not only delights our guests, but also supports nonprofits doing critical work in the community.”

“The Taste of the Gardens has become a beloved tradition and commitment to support the incredible work of our local nonprofit partners, from providing essentials like clothing and baby items to supporting children with serious illnesses and providing resources for those who have been neglected or abused,” added Patty Archer, president of the Miramar-Pembroke Pines Regional Chamber of Commerce.
