Search underway for Audi driver who fled after fatally hitting pedestrian in Oakland Park

The driver of a white Audi fled after hitting a woman walking on West Oakland Park Boulevard in Oakland Park on Tuesday night, leaving debris from the car behind, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said.

The Sheriff’s Office released a photo Thursday of the type of car believed to have been involved in the hit-and-run crash, a 2013 to 2015 model A4 or S4, and photos of the front grille emblem and another piece of debris from the front bumper that were found at the scene.

The pedestrian was crossing West Oakland Park Boulevard to the south side of the road shortly after 10 p.m. when the Audi driver hit her in the center lane near the 2400 block, the Sheriff’s Office said. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three photos are shown, provided by the Broward Sheriff's Office. The photo on the left is a silver front grille emblem from an Audi.
