Woman’s body found near I-95 entrance ramp; detectives say she was stabbed after fight

A woman’s body was found near an Interstate 95 entrance ramp in Broward County.

The body was reported about 11:30 p.m. Thursday near the southbound ramp from Broward Boulevard, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said Friday, and paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.

Detectives’ preliminary investigation found two women were in a fight before the suspect stabbed the woman. The victim’s name is being withheld under Marsy’s Law, a voter-approved constitutional amendment that allows crime victims to protect their information from the public.

The Sheriff’s Office said the suspect’s name is “temporarily withheld.” It was not immediately clear whether the suspect was in custody as of Friday afternoon.

The Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the woman’s cause of death.
