A man shot another man in the face early Saturday morning in a Lauderhill home with several people inside, including two children. The man who was shot later died.
Though the two men are not related, the shooting occurred after an “altercation” involving a “domestic situation,” said Maj. Michael Santiago, a spokesperson for Lauderhill Police.

At about 3:30 a.m., Lauderhill Police responded to a 911 call about a shooting in the 1700 block of NW 58th Avenue in Lauderhill, where they found the man in a bedroom with a gunshot wound to the face, with several other people in the room.

The man was transported to Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, where he later died.
Police described the shooting as an “isolated incident” and said that all parties are cooperating. They did not say the victim’s connection to the shooter or to the home where he was found.
“To my understanding, everyone was known to each other,” Santiago said. He added that he believed the man “was permitted to be on the premises.”
Multiple adults in the home witnessed the shooting, while two minors were in another room and did not witness it.
