Nearly a month after a 15-year-old boy was unintentionally shot to death inside of a home in Pembroke Pines, police have arrested the woman who is accused of negligently handling the gun that fired the fatal shot.
Pembroke Pines Police said in a tweet Tuesday afternoon that Francy Marcos, 24, of Miami Gardens, faces one felony count of manslaughter with a firearm. She was being held in the Broward Main Jail after she was arrested on a warrant.

Marcos was “involved with” the boy’s father, a police spokesperson said Tuesday.
Friends of the slain boy identified him as Achilles Lopez, a boy who had goals of becoming a professional soccer player one day and whose teammates regarded him as a captain on the field and a role model in their friendships. He was shot in the chest on June 11 in the Coconut Reef community.
