The number of patients in the hospital with COVID rose slightly since Monday but is still down nearly 18% over the previous Monday, data from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services shows. There were 1,128 COVID-infected patients in intensive care units on Monday, the smallest number since Jan. 6. The hospital data combines patients admitted for COVID with those infected while hospitalized.
