FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Fourty-one years ago, then-Nova Southeastern President Abraham S. Fischler, and the Board of Trustees, set out to establish a sports program. Today, after what began as a single men’s basketball team, has grown in a 16-sport, NCAA Division II powerhouse.
Since the inception of the athletic programs, Nova Southeastern has won eight NCAA National Championships, 38 Sunshine State Conference Championships, one Peach Belt Conference title, and 30 Florida Sun Conference Championships. NSU Athletics has also seen over 200 student-athletes earn All-American honors.
