Welcome back! With COVID restrictions lifted, South Florida tourism spots throw open their doors to international travelers

In 2019, the year before COVID hit, 14.5 million international tourists arrived in Florida — or about 11% of the total — and spent $17.3 billion, according to a report done for Visit Florida, the state’s tourist agency. The economic impact is more widespread than many people realize, said Dan Lindblade, president and CEO of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce.
