Tropical Storm Henri expected to produce 90 mph winds on approach to New England

Although New England lies far from the traditional hurricane targets of the southeastern United States, the region has received its share of deadly storms. The worst was the Great New England Hurricane of 1938, a Category 5 storm that killed more than 600 people. More recently, Hurricane Bob made landfall in Rhode Island in 1991 as a Category 2 storm, causing flooding, extensive damage and several deaths.
