Perper’s daughter, Blanca Perper Greenstein, said her Romanian-born father was an only child who immigrated to Israel, where he received medical and law degrees. She said he wanted a career in forensic pathology to combine those two niches. He met his wife in Israel and moved to the United States in the 1970s.
