The state has made a wealth of COVID statistics public, allowing independent researchers to establish their own COVID databases. But the DeSantis administration also has repeatedly resisted the release of information on the extent of the disease in institutions such as schools, hospitals, nursing homes and prisons, giving in only after pressure from advocacy groups and media organizations.
