Get a sneak peek at the new game-changing YMCA on Sistrunk Boulevard

The now shuttered old YMCA on Northwest 14th Terrace in Fort Lauderdale was also named after Rev. Lloyd Alexander Lee, who was the director of what was then called the Northwest YMCA for six years, starting in 1950. The original building for Black people during American apartheid was a shack that opened in 1942. (Rod Stafford Hagwood / Courtesy)
