They were convicted and locked up for years. Now the innocent are getting help — from prosecutors

Leonard Cure waves after his release from a Florida prison in April 2020. After serving over 16 years, he was freed based on a recommendation from Broward County prosecutors who found he had been wrongfully convicted. In a judge’s Dec. 14 order, Cure, 51, was exonerated and his sentence for an 2003 armed robbery in Dania Beach was vacated.
