Two tropical storms — Laura or Marco — are expected to develop over the next 24 hours, the National Hurricane Center said. One storm is forecast to track through the Caribbean and toward Florida, where it could strengthen into a hurricane. The second storm is forming off the coast of South America and is forecast to move through the Gulf of Mexico over the weekend and toward the coasts of Texas or Louisiana.
