Hart, who spoke to the Orlando Sentinel this week, said he found UCF’s abrupt cancellation “really bizarre,” especially because the university purchased roughly 8,000 copies of his book for students to read. His book is a memoir about how he grew up in a tough Miami neighborhood, escaping “a life of crime and drugs and becoming one of the crack addicts he now studies.”
