Stoneman Douglas building slated to open in summer

Rendering of a new building that’s scheduled to open in August at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High to replace the one that was the site of the mass shooting on Feb. 14, 2018. Students have been learning in portables while construction is going on. The old building will remain on another part of campus until the trial for the killer has concluded. The rendering was prepared by Zyscovich Architects. James B. Pirtle Construction is overseeing the project. (Broward County Schools / Courtesy)
