Evacuated from the Bahamas, they try to find their way in South Florida

Boodle and her husband, Don Boodle Sr., 42, fled the Abacos Islands, one of the worst-struck areas in the Bahamas, without permits to work in the U.S. They’re staying in Boca Raton with generous neighbors they knew in Marsh Harbour in the Abacos, but they have no money to continue putting their 20-year-old daughter, Jonnajáh Boodle, through law school and to provide for their 15-year-old son, Don Boodle Jr., who goes by “DJ.” He has only one year of high school left.
