Eye of Hurricane Dorian moves “just offshore” South Carolina, top winds drop to 105-mph

Downtown Charleston, one of the most popular tourist destinations in the southeast, was beginning to flood, as heavy rains and storm surge brought standing water into the streets. A 92-mph gust was recorded by a weather buoy 15 miles northeast of Charleston shortly before 2 p.m. More than 200,000 power outages were reported across South Carolina, according to the Charleston Post and Courier.
