On the field, the Orlando native and four-star recruit out of IMG Academy started his college career looking like a future Heisman Trophy contender. In his debut with the Seminoles as a redshirt freshman, he kicked off the 2016 season throwing for 479 yards and a pair of touchdowns in a 45-34 victory over Ole Miss, coming back from down 28-6. He went on to throw for 3,350 yards and 20 touchdowns to seven interceptions on 58.8 percent passing in 2016.
