Crash involving 18-wheeler and car closes stretch of U.S. 27 in west Broward

Drivers heading south on U.S. 27 through Pembroke Pines were being detoured off the highway at Pines Boulevard Thursday morning because of a crash involving a car and a tractor-trailer.

The crash happened in the southbound lanes of U.S. 27, south of Pines Boulevard.

Northbound lanes were not affected.

Helicopter images from WSVN-Ch. 7 showed the front of of a car nearly wedged under the 18-wheeler.
