Backroom beer bandit grabs $3,000 worth of goods

Surrounded by cases of beer, bottled water, soft drinks and other items used to stock the shelves of a gas station’s convenience store, a man managed to steal about $3,000 worth of items, according to Pembroke Pines police.

Investigators Tuesday released security surveillance video of the theft that happened on March 22nd at the Marathon gas station at 100700 Pines Blvd. in the hopes that someone will recognize the thief.

The video shows a man wearing a dark-colored baseball cap, a long-sleeved print jacket and blue jeans making his way in and out of the backroom/office of the business — grabbing multiple items along the way.

Police ask anyone with information about the crime or the thief’s identity to contact Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477 or online at browardcrimestoppers.org.
