Worker injured in fall from scaffold at Dania Beach construction site, fire officials say

A 45-year-old construction worker was taken to the hospital after he fell from some scaffolding at a work site in Dania Beach, said Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue.

The fall happened just before noon Wednesday on the fifth floor of a building at 850 Stirling Road, officials said.

He fell about six feet and injured his pelvis so a Technical Rescue Team was called in to treat and take him to the hospital, officials said.

The building is in the early stages of construction does not have a functioning elevator so firefighters had to lower him to the ground using a fire truck ladder with a platform at the top, officials said. or 954-356-4303 or Twitter @WayneRoustan
