For the second time this week, divers have pulled a body from a waterway in Lauderdale Lakes.
On Tuesday morning, the Broward Sheriff’s dive team, homicide detectives and crime-scene technicians were at 2690 NW 35th Terrace, where human remains were recovered, spokeswoman Joy Oglesby said.
The neighborhood is south of West Oakland Park Boulevard, between State Road 7 and Northwest 31st Avenue.
Oglesby did not know the gender of the dead person and said it was too early to know if the fatality is related to the discovery Monday of man’s body in a canal about two miles north.
That body was found near 3900 NW 31st Terrace. The area is also east of State Road 7, near Northwest 31st Avenue.
The investigation may be looking at whether the man was inside a car that crashed into the canal at about 4 a.m. Saturday.
Rescuers did not find any crash victims or survivors that day. But on Monday, the man’s body floated to the surface and was recovered, Oglesby said.
The names of the dead people were not released Tuesday.
