A father of two last seen a week ago leaving work at the airport was killed and his body was left behind an abandoned Tamarac building, authorities said Thursday.
Mackoni Hall, 40, of Hollywood, vanished on a Wednesday, March 13. He was last seen about 2 p.m. that day leaving work at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
Detectives are investigating Hall’s heath as a homicide. The cause has not been disclosed.
A search is on for Hall’s 2008 Dodge Caliber. It is gold and has a Florida tag of 344-YVA.
Hall’s worried family had made televised public pleas begging for help locating their loved one.
“It’s very hard and I just need answers,” Hall’s wife, Lawanda Green, told WFOR Ch. 4 on Wednesday, the same day Hall’s body was discovered by a contractor surveying a boarded-up building.
The contractor found the body about 11:30 a.m. at 3700 W. Commercial Blvd. and contacted authorities.
Detectives from the Broward Sheriff’s Office swarmed the vacant, fenced-off property east of State Road 7.
The Broward Medical Examiner’s Office identified the body as Hall’s.
