Conor McGregor, a professional MMA fighter and boxer, apparently wasn’t in the mood to say “cheese” as he left a Miami Beach hotel early Monday morning.
The Irish fighter allegedly turned on a fan, who tried to snap McGregor’s picture with a cellphone, as they both left the Fontainebleau Hotel, 4441 Collins Ave., about 5:20 a.m., an arrest report said.
McGregor, the biggest pay-per-view draw in MMA history, slapped the phone out of Ahmed Abdirzak’s hand, stomped on it several times, picked it up and walked away with it, according to the report.
Ahmed, of England, told police the phone was valued at $1,000.
Los Angeles rapper Blueface had performed at LIV nightclub, located inside the hotel, on Sunday night.
Police on Monday evening tracked McGregor to the Miami home he is staying in on Biscayne Island, 891 N. Venetian Drive, and arrested him, his arrest report shows.
The former holder of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, in both featherweight and lightweight, is facing two felony charges of criminal mischief and strong-arm robbery, records show.
McGregor was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, 7000 NW 41st St., Miami, at 7 p.m., authorities said.
Later Monday night, when McGregor posted bond and was released from jail he left the lockup surrounded by a pack of photographers — taking his picture.
He made no comments.
