A Message from Nova Southeastern Athletics

To NSU Student-Athletes and Alumni:
The NSU Athletic Community condemns all forms of racism, bigotry, and discrimination. Teamwork, unity, and diversity are at the heart and soul of NSU’s athletic programs, that’s what will lift us to a place where our collective voices can contribute to real change. It will stoke our compassion for one another. It will provide a lens to look beyond our own life experiences. And it will help us make a difference – right now and in the future.
Injustice will find no home in our NSU Athletic Community. It simply can’t compete. On our campus, we stand in solidarity against those who condone victimizing people and communities of color. We live and breathe inclusion and teamwork, and we stand with our Black student-athletes and the Black community. This is our belief, and this is at the core of who we are and what we stand for as NSU Sharks.
Let’s challenge ourselves to listen more. Let’s challenge ourselves to accept our differences. Let’s challenge ourselves to unite in a spirit of understanding and togetherness.
“One Shark Family” goes far beyond wearing the NSU uniform and competing alongside each other. It’s about supporting one another and being active allies no matter our differences. We need to open our hearts to the experiences of others and learn to truly listen and understand each other. Now is the time to act.
We are listening to our student-athletes, coaches, staff, and alumni and we will all work together to create meaningful change. We will work together to make a difference on our campus and in our community. We hear you; we see you; and together we will make a difference.
