High hopes, no cash: Florida’s homegrown pot amendment withers while industry initiative sprouts

In a short time, Make It Legal Florida has collected 105,926 verified signatures, which is more than 92,434 gathered by Minardi’s older campaign. Both have a long way to go. They’ll need to gather 766,200 signatures by the state’s Feb. 1 deadline and pass a Florida Supreme Court review to get on the ballot.
