“You have a bad guy who is shooting at officers, you can’t roll in the fire, EMS until you take the bad guy in custody, until the threat is eliminated,” said Scott Leamon, Coconut Creek police spokesman. “If you send fire [medics] in there, they are unarmed, they could get shot. That’s what you don’t want to do.”
