Three people were displaced from their Deerfield Beach home after it was damaged by smoke from a fire on Sunday morning.
Broward Sheriff’s Office Fire Rescue crews responded at about 6 a.m. to a 911 call about a house fire at 181 SW 2nd Court, according to a news release from the agency.
Firefighters arrived to find smoke and flames visible from the front of the home, the release said.
“Crews initiated an aggressive fire attack, stretching hose lines and making entry to quickly locate and extinguish the fire, which was concentrated near the front entry,” it added.
About 35 firefighters responded and extinguished the blaze in about 20 minutes, the agency said. No injuries were reported to residents or firefighters.
While the fire was contained to a small part of the home, smoke filled other areas and caused significant damage, the release said.
The American Red Cross were assisting three residents who were displaced with temporary housing and support services, according to the release. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
