
A 16-year-old boy is charged with making bomb threat on a Spirit Airlines flight to Fort Lauderdale on Monday, deputies say.
About 3:15 p.m., Broward Sheriff’s Office Airport District deputies responded to the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport for a call about the bomb threat, the Sheriff’s Office said. There, they investigated and arrested the 16-year-old, who is from out of state.
He now faces charges of criminal mischief worth $1,000 or more and false report of a bomb/explosive.
The Sheriff’s Office did not provide further details on the nature of the threat or what led to the arrest.
