
MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Sunshine State Conference announced its weekly awards for the week of February 24 – March 2, 2025. Three Nova Southeastern student-athletes were recognized for their performances, as Jillian Thorning (Women’s Track), Aubrey Stupp (Women’s Basketball) and MJ Iraldi (Men’s Basketball) were all honored.
Thorning broke a pair of Nova Southeastern program records during her performance at the NSU Invite last week. The Doylestown, Pennsylvania product bested 29 runners in the 1500 meters (4:31.80) by nine seconds, narrowly missing an NCAA provisional time. In the 800 meters, Thorning took the win by two seconds (2:14.75) over 30+ athletes. The weekly award is the second of her career, with the first awarded in cross country.
Stupp led Nova Southeastern offensively in a pair of conference wins to end the regular season and secure the #3 seed in the SSC tournament. The Farmersville, Ohio product began the week with a game-high 26 points in a 72-67 win at No. 9 Embry-Riddle. She also provided the Sharks with three rebounds, two steals, a block, and an assist in the victory. Stupp followed with 15 points, three rebounds, three steals, and an assist in a 69-60 win over Rollins. The graduate student totaled 41 points by shooting 61% from the field (14-23), 54% from behind the arc (7-13), and 86% from the free-throw line (6-7). Stupp averaged 20.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.5 steals while playing 28.0 minutes per game.
Iraldi helped Nova Southeastern close out the conference schedule at 19-1 following wins at Embry-Riddle and against Rollins. The West Deptford, New Jersey native began the week with a game-high 42 points in NSU’s 103-88 win at Embry-Riddle. He also gave the Sharks seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals in the win. Iraldi’s 42-point performance is tied for the 18th-best single-game scoring performance in SSC history. He connected on 18-of-28 shots from the field in the contest, which stands tied for eighth (FG made) and tied for 18th (FG attempted) in SSC single-game history. Iraldi followed with a game-highs in points (26) and rebounds (9) in a 75-71 win against Rollins to cap the regular season. Iraldi totaled 68 points last week by shooting 61% from the field (28-46), 31% from behind the arc (4-13), and 89% from the free-throw line (8-9). The senior averaged 34.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 3.5 steals while playing 35.5 minutes per game. The weekly award is the fourth of his career.
