The Hurricanes stayed hot on the transfer recruiting trail Saturday, securing a commitment from Michigan State defensive back Charles Brantley.
Brantley was the fourth player to commit to UM on Saturday, joining defensive lineman David Blay, kicker Carter Davis and long snapper Adam Booker. Brantley announced his commitment on social media.
Brantley is listed as the No. 9 cornerback in the transfer portal, according to 247Sports.
Brantley, a Florida native and former Venice High star, will help solidify a Miami secondary that was a weak spot in 2024. Brantley spent four seasons at Michigan State, starting 24 games.
In 2024, Brantley had 19 tackles, seven pass deflections and three interceptions. He earned a 77.2 defensive grade with a 74.9 coverage grade.
Brantley joins a secondary that will also include rising third-year Damari Brown and breakout second-year corner OJ Frederique Jr. He is the second defensive-back transfer Miami has added, joining safety Zechariah Poyser.
