A woman found shot in the arm in Oakland Park Sunday morning was subsequently arrested for home burglary and auto theft, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies received a call about a home burglary and shooting around 5 a.m. and responded to the 4900 block of Northwest 13th Terrace, where they found Ruika Abdulrahman, 31. Abdulrahman had been shot in the arm. The shooting was related to a burglary, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies provided aid to Abdulrahman and took her to a hospital to be treated for injuries that were not life-threatening.
BSO’s Oakland Park District Crime Suppression Team and BSO’s Violent Crimes detectives are investigating.
No further information was provided Sunday regarding the shooting, burglary or related circumstances.
