
Two people died when their small plane crashed in the Florida Everglades in western Broward County, officials reported on Wednesday.
Broward Sheriff’s Fire Rescue responded to the scene on the north side of Alligator Alley near Mile Marker 32. The wreckage of the single-engine Cessna 172 was discovered about 10:50 a.m. Wednesday, although the plane was reported missing Tuesday evening.
The number of peple onboard the craft is unknown at this time.
The FAA released a statement indicating the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate.
