
The body of an woman who went missing was found floating in a Fort Lauderdale river Thursday evening.
Caroline Woolery-Walters, 70, was last seen Monday shortly before 6 p.m. at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. She was heading to Philadelphia from Jamaica to visit family, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said.
She was found dead in the water near the 1500 block of Southwest Fourth Street shortly after 5:30 p.m. Thursday, a day after the Sheriff’s Office issued a missing person alert for Woolery-Walters.
Casey Liening, a spokesperson for Fort Lauderdale Police, said the investigation is ongoing and preliminary information does not indicate foul play.
The Sheriff’s Office and Fort Lauderdale Police have not released additional information.
