New video shows suspect car used in murder of West Park teenager

Detectives released footage Wednesday of the car used in the fatal shooting of a teenager while he was riding an electric scooter in West Park Saturday evening.

Video from the time of the shooting shows an older model, light gray Toyota Corolla passing by a fence on a residential street, according to a description from the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

A little after 7 p.m. Saturday, deputies responded to the 4100 block of Southwest 30th street in West Park, where Kyandre K. Johnbaptiste, 18, had been riding the scooter when he was shot, collapsing in the road.

Kyandre K. Johnbaptiste, 18, was shot and killed in West Park on Saturday, April 21, 2023, the Broward Sheriff's Office announced.

Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue took him to Memorial Regional Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
