A man who shot and killed his ex-girlfriend and injured another man earlier this week at a Hallandale Beach resort shot himself and died in the back of a ride-share car Wednesday, authorities said.
A young adult man and woman were waiting at the outside valet counter just after midnight Monday at the Beachwalk Resort in the 2600 block of East Hallandale Beach Boulevard when the suspect shot them both and fled, Hallandale Beach Police Capt. Pete Abut said.
The woman died at Aventura Hospital, and the injured man remained there in critical condition Wednesday.

The U.S. Marshals Service and Hallandale Beach Police were following the ride-share car that the suspect was in Wednesday afternoon and pulled the car over about noon in the 8300 block of Cleary Boulevard in Plantation, Abut said. After the traffic stop, the man shot himself in the back seat of the car.
Plantation Police shut down Cleary Boulevard between North Pine Island Road and North University Drive for more than two hours to investigate, the department said in a tweet.
The suspect, his ex-girlfriend and the injured man are all Broward County residents in their early 20s, Abut said. Authorities have not released their names.
“This is a tragic event any way you look at it,” Abut said.
