Freight train, SUV collide in Hollywood causing Tri-Rail delays

Tri-Rail trains were experiencing delays Wednesday morning due to an collision involving a freight train and an SUV on Pembroke Road west of Interstate 95, the rail company said in a statement.

The collision happened in the predawn hours in Hollywood.

No reports of injuries were given. But the white SUV struck by the train was covered with a tarp, indicating a possible fatality.

A bus bridge between Golden Glades and Hollywood stations will be in place until the track is cleared, Tri-Rail said in a tweet.

Westbound Pembroke Road was shutdown in the area for several hours, reopening at about 8 a.m.
