Body found in Miami-Dade County confirmed to be Fort Lauderdale employee, deputies say

A body that was discovered in Miami-Dade County last week has been confirmed to be Mimose Dulcio, a 39-year-old City of Fort Lauderdale employee, who was initially thought to be missing but whose husband now faces a murder charge.

The Broward Medical Examiner’s Office identified the body as Dulcio, the Broward Sherriff’s Office said in a statement Tuesday night. Her body was found on Nov. 16 near Miami Gardens.

Dulcio’s family reported her missing on Nov. 12. She hadn’t been seen since the evening of Nov. 10 near the 400 block of Northwest 30th Avenue in Broward County, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Her husband, Jose Luis Pacheco, 36, was arrested last week and faces one count of second-degree murder. He was being held in a Miami-Dade County jail, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The Sheriff’s Office Missing Persons Unit searched for Dulcio and began investigating her disappearance before turning the case over to Homicide Unit detectives. Pacheco told detectives he hadn’t seen or heard from his wife, who he was divorcing, the Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

A search of their home found evidence that Dulcio was murdered in their home, and her body was taken somewhere in the couple’s car, the Sheriff’s Office said.
