The husband of a missing Fort Lauderdale city employee was charged on Monday in her murder, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, though detectives have not found her body.
Mimose Dulcio, 39, was last seen Thursday evening at the home she shared with her husband, Jose Luis Pacheco, 36, in unincorporated Broward County near Fort Lauderdale. During the investigation, he told detectives that the two were “in the process of getting a divorce,” but that he hadn’t seen her for days, according to Gerdy St. Louis, a spokesperson for the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities obtained search warrants for the couple’s home and vehicle, where they found “evidence that suggested Dulcio had been murdered in the couple’s home, and that her body had been transported in the couple’s shared vehicle and disposed of in an unknown location,” a news release said.

Dulcio’s family members had told local media outlets that they feared for her safety.
“We’re all heartbroken; we don’t even know what to say as of yet,” said Seminta Dulcio, Mimose Dulcio’s sister, after the announcement Tuesday. “All I have to say is we don’t know what to say.”
Pacheco was arrested in Hialeah and brought to the Miami-Dade County jail, where he faces one charge of second-degree murder.
