Your preschoolers may well want to know that kiddie-kitty TV show “Gabby’s Dollhouse” is coming to South Florida.
The Netflix streaming program, where young cat-fancier Gabby goes on adventures with her feline friends inside a dollhouse, is a mix of live-action and animation.
And now it’s a limited-time event: “Gabby’s Dollhouse MEOWseum Discovery Days” will be at the Museum of Discovery and Science (MODS) in downtown Fort Lauderdale on Aug. 9 -10.
In addition to a meet-and-greet with Gabby, some of the paws-itively playful activities will include MerCat’s Water Walking Spa, the Hamster Kitty Craft, an Egg Carton Garden, a Glass Xylophone, plus storytime sessions and a museum-wide scavenger hunt.
The experience is produced by DreamWorks Animation and the Association of Children’s Museums (ACM). The local presenter is Chewy Vet Care.
“We’re excited to partner with DreamWorks Animation and ACM to bring these cat-tastic, hands-on experiences to MODS,” said Joseph P. Cox, president and CEO of MODS. “Through creativity, collaboration and curiosity, guests will build foundational STEM skills while developing confidence and critical thinking by making memories and learning from their mistakes. After all, as Gabby says: Sometimes we learn a lot by ‘failing fantastically.’ ”
Created by Traci Paige Johnson and Jennifer Twomey of “Blue’s Clues” fame, “Gabby’s Dollhouse” on Netflix has charted as a Top 10 TV series in 63 countries and launched a toy line, home goods, apparel, original music, an app, a YouTube channel and more.
“Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie” is scheduled to hit movie screens on Sept. 26.
