3 arrested in shooting death of teenager in driveway of Oakland Park home

Three Lauderhill men have been arrested in an August 2024 murder in Oakland Park.

Ammon Watson, 18, was shot and killed in the driveway of a home on Northwest 28th Street shortly before midnight on Aug. 24. According to investigators with the Broward Sheriff’s Office, a man ran up to Watson, shot him, and then fled on foot.

During the investigation by the BSO Homicide Unit and V.I.P.E.R. (Violent Intervention Proactive Enforcement Response) investigators, three men were identified as suspects: Ta’Narine Hamilton, 18, Khalil Elie, 22,  and Morris King Jr., 19, all of Lauderhill.

Hamilton was already in custody, Elie was arrested on June 16, and King was arrested on Thursday. All three men are facing one count of first-degree felony murder.

The investigation is ongoing.
