
Rescue crews on Sunday shut down eastbound and westbound lanes on Interstate 595 after a tanker and a Broward County Transit bus crashed, caught fire and created a thick cloud of black smoke.
Davie police are advising drivers to avoid I-595 from Pine Island Road to SW 136th Avenue as well as State Road 84 westbound.
“The whole area is shutdown due to a tanker fire,” Davie Police posted on X.
Several agencies are on the scene, including Davie police, Sunrise police and the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
The Florida Highway Patrol’s Live Traffic Crash and Road Condition Report shows officers were dispatched at 10:04 a.m. and arrived at 10:12 a.m. The report shows there are injuries.
