A Broward judge rejected the self-defense claim of a defendant who said he killed his sometime Miramar roommate because he was afraid the man was about to rape him. Broward Circuit Judge Lorena Mastrarrigo offered no explanation for her ruling other than to say she considered the testimony of the police, the medical experts and the defendant, Marvin Jean-Pierre.
